This synthesis apparatus consists of the proprietary BBS aluminum block, offering heat transfer performance equal to or better than oil, and RCH-1000/RCH-3 hot plates with magnetic stirrers.

The dry design eliminates the risks and mess associated with oil, ensuring safe and clean operation. Aluminum blocks and optional parts can be selected according to research needs, allowing for versatile configurations to accommodate various vessel sizes and types.

 

 

 

♦ Eliminates concerns associated with oil use, such as spills, splatter, smoke, and fire hazards, while also removing the hassle of oil replacement. This ensures a clean and safe research environment.

♦ The aluminum block features a white anodized coating for enhanced chemical resistance and includes two temperature sensor insertion holes (3.2mm diameter).

♦ The aluminum block is designed in which it corrects the gap according to the variation of the glass vessel and expansion/contraction due to heat. There is no damage to the flask due to expansion/contraction during heating, and stable heat transfer performance is maintained at all times (PAT).

• Eliminates hazards associated by oil baths

 

Oil baths pose the risk of hot oil spilling, scattering, emitting smoke, or catching fire, while mantle heaters can cause the liquid to ignite the heating wire if the flask breaks. SynFlex™ BBS series does not use oil, so reactions can be carried out safely, cleanly, and in a short time.

 

Uniform and safe heating (up to 250℃)

The aluminum alloy block has good heat transfer, preventing the accumulation of high-temperature oil (hot spots) that is common in oil baths, and ensures uniform and safe heating.

 

 

• Faster heating time than oil bath

The high thermal conductivity of the aluminum block ensures uniform heating, reducing heat shock (temperature differences) between the sample and the aluminum block. This allows for faster temperature increases compared to oil baths, further shortening reaction times.

We offer a wide selection of aluminum blocks, including the Multi series, which combines adapters and holders for small-capacity applications, and the Fix series for directly accommodating large-capacity vessels. All blocks feature an anodized coating for enhanced chemical resistance.

The Multi series aluminum blocks are designed for small-capacity applications ranging from 5 to 100mL. Two types of holders are available: single and triple, which can be paired with adapters to accommodate various vessel sizes. During operation, the stirring bar rotates while hovering a few millimeters above the bottom of the flask. The stirring bar remains securely fixed at the tip of the stirring impeller in a floating position, preventing contact with the flask. This eliminates concerns about breakage or friction with the flask and minimizes the risk of the stirring bar bouncing.

• Small separable flask set

By using the BBS aluminum blocks (Multi-Series) with test tube adapters, small separable flasks can be utilized.

These flasks feature a wide opening, making it easy to extract products and clean the interior. Available in four types in 50, 100, and 150mL size. These small separable flasks come with multiple connection ports for various applications. The 50mL and 100mL flasks have two color-coded scales, allowing for convenient monitoring of reagent quantities. Stirring with either a stirring bar or an impeller is also possible.

By using the BBS-1HLD (Single holder), catalyst screening vessels can be utilized. Three types of screening vessels, 6, 18, and 24, can hold up to 24 small samples at the same time, making it easy to perform normal and high pressure reaction screening. All vessels operate under identical atmospheric and temperature conditions, ensuring consistency across experiments.

 

• Micro-scale CSTR® (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor)

In addition, the micro-scale CSTR® HIP-CSTR can be configured with the dedicated BBS-1HLD-M (single holder 88mm ID).
