SFD-1000 and SFD-1100 are spray freeze-drying granulation units. These models are designed to create porous microparticles without applying heat, resulting in good yields. The processing time varies depending on the samples.
The SFD-1000 and SFD-1100 have a processing capacity of Max.0.15 L/batch, an air pressure adjustment range for spraying of 20~250kPa, a liquid pump flow rate range of 51~900mL/h (NRP-1000), and a sample stirring rotation speed of 50~1600ppm (RCX-1100D).
These units are used to spray a sample (aqueous solution) into liquid nitrogen, freeze it, and then dry it to obtain porous microparticles. Because the freezing is instantaneous, granulation effects can be obtained. As no heat is applied, the microparticles do not shrink. Compared to spray drying, the resulting particles are more porous, have higher solubility, are more dispersible, and have lower agglomeration.
