By increasing the contact area between the shelf and the inner wall, a consistent amount of heat is supplied from the wall to the shelf surface. This heat conduction (heat transfer) maintains a uniform shelf surface temperature, allowing for vacuum drying with minimal temperature unevenness.

By controlling the vacuum level within the vacuum oven and adjusting the pumping speed of the vacuum pump, the system effectively manages the process.
